HOW TO USE BEARD OIL

Beard oil should always be applied to a damp beard. We recommend working this product through your mane after every shower. It’s the perfect environment for beard oil application when the room is steamy because the heat and humidity prime your facial hair to absorb your beard oil and the pores on your skin are opened up. You can also use a couple of drops of beard oil throughout the day to refresh your beard but if your beard begins to feel greasy, dial back the amount you’re using.

It’s important to wait at least five minutes after you apply your beard oil, to ensure it has all been fully absorbed before making use of any other beard products for men such as beard balm or beard butter. Otherwise, your beard balm or beard butter may not grip to your hair properly, which means they won’t hold your style as well.

HOW DO I APPLY BEARD OIL?

Start with just a few drops. Work it through your beard, all the way to the skin, so you can keep dandruff away. Agitate your hands as you pull them back through your beard, distributing the oil evenly. Palm the top layer of your beard and use your fingertip to apply the oil to your mustache. Now, you’ll want to go over your beard with a beard brush to tame any flyaways and help disperse the product.

HOW MUCH BEARD OIL SHOULD I USE?

We recommend starting with the daily application of two or three drops the first time you use beard oil. If you find it’s not accomplishing what you want it to, up the amount. If there are grease stains on your shirt collar, your pillowcase or your hands come away feeling oily after touching your beard, you’re using too much beard oil. The right amount will always be fully absorbed by your beard.

WHEN SHOULD I USE BEARD OIL?

You can use top beard oils whenever you want, but we recommend using it when:

• You’ve just had a shower
• You’ve just washed your face
• Your beard feels dry, brittle, or itchy
• You’re experiencing dandruff

As long as your beard is still absorbing the oil you’re applying, you’re not using too much beard oil. What’s more, it’s not a wax-based product so it won’t leave a residue if it’s fully absorbed. That means no need to worry about product build-up.
